As Hugh Jackman credits Jerry Seinfeld for convincing him to quit Wolverine, he also shared how he's glad to be off his diet of boiled chicken and broccoli.
Laura (entrancing newcomer Dafne Keen) is planning to meet the other kids Dr. Rice experimented on in Eden, a place they read about in an X-Men comic book. Jackman's previous solo outings X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The Wolverine opened with $158.2 million and $139.6 million respectively.
The American super hero movie is the third and final Wolverine movie and the 10 instalment in the X-men film series. So many weights lifted and so many chickens eaten getting pumped up to be a superhero icon. In the film, she plays the role of Jackman's daughter.
He said: "I had never heard of X-Men when they called me for the test".
He only thought about walking away from Wolverine one time before, around the release of 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand. But I hope it's not a harbinger of the route every superhero movie takes in the future. I'm sure the lore of how the mutants were wiped out is very interesting, but director James Mangold is smart enough to know that the core of this story is in the character drama, and we're allowed to piece together the snippets of backstory as necessary rather than be treated to an expositional dump.
Logan director James Mangold has known Jackman for nearly as long as the actor has played Wolverine - he cast Jackman opposite Meg Ryan in 2001's romantic comedy Kate & Leopold.
If you're going to lean that heavily on one of the best films of the last two decades, you'd better deliver something worthy of the comparison - and Logan does. "I don't see an end for him because we have so few of these masculine figures that can own the screen in a traditional sense but are also full of surprises". He praised Hugh Jackman's 17-year run as Wolverine, but acknowledged he had wanted someone else initially - Bob Hoskins. "She'll tell you, 'Hey, Dad, I notice the Wolverines and all that".
And Jackman doubly delivers as Wolverine.
Strangely, Stephen Merchant isn't used to his full comic potential and plays very much a straight role here, and to good effect.
