The auto won't be auctioned but will be sold to anyone who can offer $1.5 million. At least that must be the hope for the auction house behind the creepiest item of music memorabilia since John Lennon's rotten molar: the auto that Tupac was shot and killed in. 20 years later, the same BMW Tupac Shakur was riding when he was shot to death is up for sale.

The auto that Tupac Shakur was fatally shot in is on sale for $1.5 million, according to the Associated Press. As first reported by TMZ, the restored sedan is listed $1.5 million on the historical collector's website Moments In Time.

Several photographs of the refurbished auto are displayed, with a document claiming it was registered to Shakur's label Death Row Records in 1996.

Shakur, whose hits included California Love and Dear Mama, had been travelling in the vehicle with Knight when he was shot.

Shakur was hit four times - twice in the chest, once in the arm, and once in the leg. He succumbed to his injuries six days later. The whip has reportedly changed owners a few times, amassing more than 90,000 miles in the process.

However, it appears the vehicle has been well-used, as there are more than 92,000 miles on the odometer. The identity of the shooter remains a mystery.
