A patron with a handgun shot and killed a man who had, moments earlier, shot a manager of a popular Arlington, Texas, restaurant Wednesday evening, WFAA reported.
The incident happened at the 6500 block of S. Cooper Street at Zona Caliente Sports Bar.
Two people, including the shooter, have been killed after a fight at a Texas bar.
"This customer was armed with a handgun and engaged the shooter by firing his weapon towards the suspect, striking him", Arlington PD said in a statement. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He hasn't been identified, and police say no charges will be filed against him. The pair began to argue.
"There was some type of altercation, things being said, and this man pulled out a gun and shot the employee and killed the employee", police stated.
Arlington Police say a man walked into the restaurant just after 6 p.m. and confronted an employee.
Cook says, "By all accounts, he chose to engage the shooter because he wanted to prevent further loss of life".
A motive wasn't immediately clear, but police were interviewing dozens of potential witnesses that were inside as either customers or staff.
