Your father and grandfather could tell you stories. Even though the Capitals possession numbers are dwarfing the Penguins, their inability to produce has left them out in the cold.

Through four games the Capitals have out-chanced the Penguins by 57 and outshot them by 48.

Pittsburgh posted a 3-2 victory in game four on Wednesday to seize a 3-1 edge in the National Hockey League playoff quarter-final series. "Certainly Washington is a real good team that has a dynamic offense".

Statistically speaking, the Caps might have been all over the defending Stanley Cup champions, firing 38 shots at Marc-Andre Fleury compared to Pittsburgh's 19 shots on goal. He scored the first goal to give the Penguins some life, and assisted on Justin Schultz's game-tying goal with just over a minute remaining.

The Penguins were missing their best player, Sidney Crosby, because of a concussion, their best defenseman, Kris Letang, following season-ending neck surgery, and Matt Murray, who was their No. 1 goalie before he sustained a lower-body injury prior to Game 1 of their first-round series against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Penguins benefited from an own-goal for a 2-0 lead at 3:51 of the second.

That was an emotionally turbulent time for the Penguins franchise that was $6.5 million in debt and trying - and failing - to avoid bankruptcy.

Even without Crosby, the Penguins won't lack for star power.

Pittsburgh got the first win in the series by a home team when they earned a 3-2 victory in Game 4 of the series Wednesday night. Something like that can happen again. All this creates havoc for Holtby and led the the Penguins to a 3-2 win on Wednesday.

The Ducks kicked off their comeback thanks to this non-goaltender interference call on Ryan Getzlaf's tally to begin the second. They also chose to put Gordie Roberts and Bob Errey on the Capitals' potent right wings Dino Ciccarelli and Peter Bondra.

ABOUT THE CAPITALS: While a significant portion of the spotlight rests with Niskanen and his role in Crosby's concussion, fellow defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk finally saw a positive light in the playoffs with his power-play goal 3:13 into overtime on Monday. He said he has never been involved in a series where a team rallied from a 3-1 hole. Sidney Crosby woozily making his way off the ice after taking a brutal hit from a member of the Washington Capitals. "I'm sure there's some people that think it's great sacrifice, and I'm sure there's some people that think it's stupid and pointless". "You don't want to try to force it, you don't want to try to dive in front of every shot, but it the opportunity arises, you want to try to get the shot blocked".

"We're not looking at a 3-1 margin right now". We've the live stream details to watch game four on May 3 at 7:30pm EST. The Caps bench boss then went on to say his top guys "weren't as good as they needed to be".

"I'm not going to elaborate on the process he is going through, we really elaborate on our medical staff in that regard", Sullivan said. "In reality, you don't have the ability to look at the full picture".
