Johansen scored 3:15 into the third, and the Predators advanced to the conference finals in their fourth try by beating the St. Louis Blues 3-1 to take the series in six games.

After Game 5 against the Nashville Predators, the Blues season remains on the brink-but Friday night, they weren't quite ready for curtains.

Schwartz deflected a Colton Parayko shot for the go-ahead goal 25 seconds into the third period to break a 1-1 tie. Schwartz has a team-high four postseason goals, including three game-winners.

Jake Allen did his part by making 21 saves, including a key one on Filip Forsberg with 6:11 remaining (Nashville's last shot on goal).

Pekka Rinne was drafted by the Nashville Predators in the eighth round in 2004, back when the franchise was celebrating its first playoff appearance.

In these playoffs, the Predators have allowed just 1.4 goals per game-very almost a full goal better than any other team still alive. The Predators would play in their second seven-game series against the Sharks, this time losing being eliminated.

Jaskin - playing in place of Alex Steen, sidelined with a lower-body injury - put the Blues in front at 5:43 of the second period, banging home a rebound off an Alex Pietrangelo shot.

Draisaitl completed his hat trick on a give-and-go with Lucic with 4 1/2 minutes left in the second period when Kesler was serving a roughing minor.

"The last one's always the toughest", said Predators captain Mike Fisher.

It's good advice, but easier said than done against the Predators. "They scored first, we were chasing the game at that point as well". It's a matter of bounces nearly, a matter of power play, but when you look at it, I thought we had a great game last game and we came out firing.

"Pekks was unbelievable again", defenseman Roman Josi said. Subban has played a big role in getting them this far.

The Blues have led in this series for a grand total of 3:51. "We've got a lot of hockey to play after that point and if we don't give up the first goal, we can't let that be a reason we don't come away with a win tonight".

Josi had a goal and assist in yesterday's clinching game, and in the dressing room Subban grabbed the recorder of Predators communications coordinator Brooks Bratten to conduct a brief interview. You look at playoff hockey, and when you're chasing, and when you're chasing as much as we have, it makes things more hard.

Notes: The Predators' only playoff series clinched outside of Nashville came in Game 7 in Anaheim to clinch their first-round series past year.

"The mentality we had to have to be able to bounce back from that is really impressive", Yeo said.

Corey Perry, Ducks - Not only did Perry net the game-winner in double overtime, he had two assists in the win.
