Acting President Osinbajo spoke during the first day of his two days official visit to Cross River State, when he paid a courtesy call on the Obong of Calabar, Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu V.
The Acting President was received at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport by the Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade. We are greater together than apart.
The acting president later performed the ground-breaking ceremony of Cross River Rice City Project and inaugurated the Calabar Garment Factory, all situated inside the park.
"The project will drive the state's economy and Nigeria in general will benefit because the route will link other states of the federation,".
The Acting President will also visit the Calabar Rice City located at Ayade Industrial Park and also inspect the Calabar Pharmaceutical Company, now under construction.
Osinbajo also said that the federal government would work with all stakeholders to ensure that the displaced people of Bakassi were adequately taken care of.
"When people speak of Nigeria and respect this country, it is because of the diversity; because of the strength in numbers".
He said: "Unity is very important".
He said the Buhari administration would not hesitate to support viable programmes and initiatives that would make living better for Nigerians, adding that "the vision of President Muhammadu Buhari for Nigeria is one where the Federal Government partners with the States to create industrial, commercial and professional opportunities for all our citizens".
In his response, the Obong of Calabar, while appreciating the visit and asked that the traditional institution be given constitutional powers.
