2 dead in shooting at Penn State Beaver campus in W. Pennsylvania

Two people were killed earlier today in a shooting at the Pennsylvania State University campus in Monaca, Pennsylvania, CBS Pittsburgh reports. Troopers say a campus employee was fatally shot near her auto by her estranged husband, who then shot and killed himself.

Penn State Beaver has closed their campus as police investigate a shooting on campus. At 4:17 p.m.an alert was sent that the campus was closed until further notice.

The shooting happened in a parking lot. The man shot and killed his wife before shooting himself near her auto.

An officer heard the shots and lots of screaming and responded to the scene.

The Penn State - Beaver campus is now on lockdown, dispatchers told local news outlets. They also reported that the situations has since been contained.

It asks students and faculty to avoid the Student Union building and food services area.
