With the news of longtime owner Jerry Richardson placing the Carolina Panthers up for sale, several prominent figures have expressed interest in buying the team. Richardson said in 2009 that his family owns 48% of the team, according to The Charlotte Observer. I hope everyone in this organization, both on and off the field, will be firmly focused on just one mission: "to play and win the Super Bowl".

Kaepernick, the former quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, gained notoriety after he started kneeling to protest police mistreatment of African Americans.

The announcement comes on the same day Sports Illustrated published a report alleging that Richardson paid off "significant monetary settlements" due to inappropriate workplace comments and conduct.

Diddy's message was retweeted by Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry, who said he wanted in.

The Carolina Panthers have announced Tina Becker has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer and been given full control of the day-to-day management of the organization. In 1993, NFL owners voted to make Charlotte the home of the league's 29th team.

No word on how that sits with current QB Cam Newton.

Diddy says if he gets the team, he will immediately sign Colin Kaepernick to be his quarterback. Kaepernick has a $22 million net worth (and is unemployed at the moment) while Steph Curry has an estimated $47.3 million net worth, respectively.

Kaepernick also responded with a tweet, saying that he was interested in the purchase.

The team owner announced the move in a letter to fans Sunday night, just hours after a report accused him of sexual harassment.

"I believe that it is time to turn the franchise over to new ownership", Richardson said.

Sterling was essentially forced to sell the Los Angeles Clippers. The last team sold was the Buffalo Bills for $1.4 billion to Terry Pegula in 2014, Forbes Magazine reported past year.
