This month, last year's Winter Wonderland event will be returning to bring holiday cheer to the first-person shooter.

Winter Wonderland debuted a year ago, and this latest outing promises a mix of the familiar and the new.

As is tradition, a host of new legendary skins for players to collect will also become available.

Starting on December 12, Overwatch players can revel in some fun-filled, and snowy activities when the Winter Wonderland event returns.

The long awaited Punk Hanzo skin has been confirmed for this season, along with some legendary skins for Junkrat and Roadhog. Unfortunately, none of these were actually shown off, and the brief teaser below only shows one of Mei's existing skins. "I think it's one of the most gorgeous jobs that our environmental artists have ever done", he says.

We'll keep an eye out for any news of new skins coming to Overwatch, but we should also note that as with the Halloween Terror event in October, skins that debuted during last year's event will be making a return. This will be an asymmetrical multiplayer mode with a boss fight similar to Evolve. There will also be an event called Mei's Yeti Hunt, where six Mei characters will get to fight and try to defeat one yeti, which will basically be played by Winston, all of whom will be controlled by actual players. Mei has a new ability that's specific to this mode, Ice Trap, and she can use it along with her usual Ice Wall to fend off the yeti. When the game begins, the Meis must attempt to hunt down and eliminate Winston, while he does he best to avoid detection and snaffle up as many meat power-ups as he can. "But the point of some of these seasonal brawls are just to be fun and light and refreshing for a period of time", the director added. All the new skins will appear alongside last year's skins so you can potentially hoover up any that you missed last time around.
