The ASUS event is taking place on 27 February which is Day 2 of MWC 2018. The invitation suggests that the company might unveil ZenFone 5 series smartphone.

The company has scheduled a press event on February 27 and the poster for the event clearly hints that it's going to be the Zenfone 5 series that gets unveiled at this event. In this event Asus most probably will launch its Zenfone 5 Series. It also features a "We Love Photo" tag that was originally used at the time of launching the family a year ago and sports Qualcomm Snapdragon branding.

This #BackTo5 hashtag could mean anything from 5000 mAh batteries in each ZenFone, 5 colours, 5 different ZenFone models or even 5 glass layer displays or backsides. The two upcoming devices might be ZenFone 5 Lite and ZenFone 5 Max. The launch event will be held on 7.30 PM CET (12:00 AM IST) in Barcelona, Spain and ASUS will also live stream the event's video on its official website.

Asus ZenFone 5 Max with model code ASUS_X00QD has received Wi-Fi Alliance certification.

The Asus ZenFone 5 Lite, on the other hand, was certified in Russian Federation. The phone packs with dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac support and runs on Android 8.0 Out of the box.

It may be mentioned that the Asus Zenfone 4 Max was released in September previous year with a mammoth 5,000mAh battery and fast battery charging (5V/2A, 10W) feature. The phone is rumoured to sport a 6-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio and a Snapdragon SoC.
