According to the sources, Miller had multiple conversations with Dawkins - who worked as a runner for ASM Sports agent Andy Miller - regarding Ayton prior to him joining the Wildcats.
Since Ayton played against the Ducks, it's unlikely he sits going forward even if there's a cloud around him and his team in the NCAA Tournament. Kelly wrote that Ayton "voluntarily submitted to several interviews" with the FBI and federal prosecutors as well as compliance officials with the NCAA, the Pac-12 and Arizona.
Maybe this means OR has finally moved on from Chip Kelly. He made both pulling the Ducks within 6 at 38-32 Oregon. Arizona was up 43-37 at the break.
The Ducks won it Saturday by scoring the first five points of the overtime period, getting a 3-pointer from Payton Pritchard and a layup from Troy Brown, and hanging on from there. He didn't make the trip with Arizona to Oregon.
Arizona pushed the lead back to double digits in the first two minutes of the second half. There were also a couple instances when UA and OR players had to be separated from one another in what turned into a highly intense game. McIntosh also had a memorable senior night, scoring 20 points and grabbing five rebounds - with all five boards coming after halftime.
UA took leads of up to 12 points in the half but OR cut it to single digits in the final minutes. The Ducks would not have the lead long with Arizona State tying the game. "We talked to the team about the game, and it's just a situation that was tough with our leader not out there with us". Smith, starting for Trier, had 11 points. The Wildcats turned it over 17 times during the course of the game. OR got off to a fast 5-0 start but Arizona fought back. The lead remained five at 90-85 when Rawle Alkins broke free for a dunk and was fouled by Wooten, but Alkins drew a technical for jawing at Wooten after the basket, denying the Wildcats a chance to grab momentum. OR shot 40.0 percent but made 6 of 16 3-pointers, most during an early flurry.
The Huskies (19-10, 9-7), rebounding nicely from a poor performance in a loss at Stanford on Thursday, also got 16 points and nine rebounds from Noah Dickerson.
Oregon State 79, Arizona State 75 - At Corvallis, Ore., Tres Tinkle had 15 points, eight assists and eight rebounds as Oregon State held on to beat Arizona State.
