Allegiant Air's nonstop year-round flights from Orlando Sanford International Airport will kick off May 30, the airport announced Wednesday.

The new flights will operate twice weekly.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida via Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) - begins June 6, 2018 with fares as low as $76.

The Charlotte County Airport Authority (CCAA) agrees that Nashville is an excellent destination to add to Allegiant's growing number of non-stop routes from Punta Gorda. "This gives our travelers another option to get to Orlando, and brings some competition to the market".

In February, low-priced carrier Frontier Airlines announced it would start offering seasonal nonstop flights from Savannah to Denver and Philadelphia.

That includes seasonal flights from Portland, Oregon to Orlando International Airport this summer on Sun Country Airlines, officials said.

The Orlando Sanford International Airport is about an hour from popular vacation destinations like Disney World.

"We're very excited to welcome Nashville as the newest city to the Allegiant network", said Lukas Johnson, Allegiant senior vice president of commercial.

Allegiant has continued to build its portfolio at Bishop since it began operating flights in Flint in 2016, now offering routes to four cities in Florida as well as Myrtle Beach. The company estimates the routes will bring almost 20,000 more visitors to Myrtle Beach.
