Mike Gesicki projected as first-round pick after incredible National Football League combine

He is a priority now, more so than drafting a replacement for quarterback Eli Manning.

In recent years, the position of running back has been "devalued" by many in the NFL. Many scouts think Allen has the best upside of the QB's in this draft.

Former Oklahoma offensive lineman Orlando Brown entered Friday's National Football League scouting combine workouts with a strong chance to be taken in the first round of April's National Football League draft.

"I'm just focused on coming out here and trying to dominate this combine", Barkley said.

Barkley averaged almost 6 yards a carry as a junior in State College, rushing for 1,271 yards and 18 touchdowns and catching 54 passes for 632 yards and three TDs. It would also help if he had someone like Barkley to hand the ball off to. But Barkley just might be making a case to go No. 1. Pairing him with Odell would give the Giants some serious firepower on offense. It's already been nearly a month since the Super Bowl ended and almost two months since the College Football National Championship Game. "I played volleyball in high school so jumping has always come pretty naturally to me".

Nevertheless, there are plenty of other worthwhile storylines taking place from the combine. Quarterbacks, wide receivers and tight ends will highlight Saturday's activities, and defensive positions will round out the final two days of on-field workouts.

The last time that happened was in 1965, and there were only 11 first-round picks that year.

Barkley will spend the coming weeks working out individually for several teams - including the Giants and Jets, who have the sixth overall pick - and where he will end up remains uncertain.

This scenario is the least talked about among the three, because it is more fan-theory.

"I've been fat my whole life", Brown said earlier this week. "They have a lot of young talent, a new offensive coordinator", he said, indicating that he is informed about the current state of teams.

Along with the strength he showed on tape and in the weight room, the mauling guard from Texas El Paso showed great movement skills and seems to have solidified himself as the 2nd best guard in the draft behind Notre Dame's Quentin Nelson.

Of course, barring a trade, that would mean going to Cleveland. But the Giants will soon need a quarterback as well, and could draft one with their selection. None went in the top three.
