Odell Beckham Jr. threatening to hold out

Beckham is recovering from a broken left ankle that forced him to miss the last 12 games in 2017.

McVay was careful on addressing the Beckham trade speculation specifically.

Per Ralph Vacchiano of SNY.tv, Gettleman said the Giants need to focus on "eliminating internal and external distractions" but added he was "not going there" when asked if he wanted Beckham to remain on the team. It's unclear what the Giants would be looking for in return.

Mara noted "it's too often he allows himself to be put in bad situations and uses bad judgment".

"I think it's important that you get all the information", Shurmur said. Earlier in March, a video surfaced of the wide receiver with what appeared to be cocaine and a brown cigarette in hand. "I don't know what was in that video exactly, but I'm exhausted of answering questions about Odell's behavior and what the latest incident is", Mara said Sunday.

The quick change in tune from the organization might have something to do with Beckham's threat of holding out until that new deal comes around, but the team's aggressive handling of the star has impressed Shurmur. "Hypothetically, I think a player of his caliber can really do everything". "It's important as coaches and players and anybody who is working together to visit and get a chance to know one another". You know, I hope not. "I think it's important, especially in the player-coach relationship, to get to know him". It turns out that the New York Giants are, in fact, listening to offers for WR Odell Beckham Jr.

During his first three seasons in the league, Beckham was one of the more productive young wideouts in NFL history. But he is known not only for his highlight-reel catches but also for incidents that are distractions.

Based on the conversation, Shurmur said it his understanding Beckham will be at the team facility April 9 for the start of the offseason workout program.

While the 25-year-old's antics are well documented-on Monday, as reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, he claimed that he would not play this season unless a contract extension is agreed-his talent remains unquestionable.
