The quarterback has reportedly been traded from the Tiger-Cats to the Montreal Alouettes, according to TSN.
As part of the Manziel trade, Hamilton acquired defensive end Jamaal Westerman, wide receiver Chris Williams and two first-round draft picks (2020, 2021) from the Alouettes in exchange for Manziel and offensive linemen Tony Washington and Landon Rice.
Manziel never saw the field with Hamilton, which has been led by quarterback Jeremiah Masoli, who had tied a CFL record with nine straight 300-yard passing games before the team's Week 5 bye. The Alouettes have scored a CFL-low 69 points and allowed a league-high 148.
Manziel, 25, didn't get a chance to play at all during five regular-season games he spent with Hamilton.
"We have acquired an exceptional quarterback with undeniable talent", Alouettes general manager Kavis Reed said in a statement.
Montreal has already had three different quarterbacks this season, and none has impressed much.
Back-up Jeff Mathews, who replaced Willy in a Week 4 start, is also out four-to-six weeks with an injured foot.
"With his great mobility, his athletic abilities and his instinct we believe that hewill have a positive impact on our offense". That's despite the Tiger-Cats' head coach saying Manziel should reach the National Football League within two years. They're hoping Manziel can be the spark that revives Montreal's season.
Manziell has since admitted to being bipolar and said he is being treated for the disorder.
Montreal hosts Edmonton on Thursday night.
