Anthony is expected to be waived and become a free agent, but where will he end up next?

Of course, the Rockets will soon have their chance to do so after the Thunder traded Anthony to the Hawks on Thursday in a three-team deal.

Per Wojnarowski, Thunder general manager Sam Presti and head coach Billy Donovan "were given permission to talk with Schroder and they're enthusiastic about [the] partnership".

Offloading Anthony is expected to ease the Thunder's eye-watering tax bill while allowing the former New York Knick to seek a new challenge after a hard season.

Once Melo is waived by the Hawks, the Rockets are the reported front-runners for his signature, while the Heat is also in contention for the 10-time All-Star as well. Houston lost forwards Trevor Ariza and Luc Mbah a Moute in free agency.

The ageing forward averaged 16.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in the 2017/18 season.

The 34-year-old is coming off his worst season in the National Basketball Association, as he posted career lows in scoring average and field goal percentage last season.

The 10-time All-Star averaged 16.2 points-per-game during the regular season but became nearly unplayable during the Thunder's first-round playoff exit to the Utah Jazz.
