"This is no layup and that's why it's a day to day situation", McCarthy said, adding that Rodgers is looking to increase his activity Thursday.
Rodgers suffered a knee injury in the first week of the National Football League season, and fans are concerned that the set-back will see him miss the match against rival team Minnesota.
"Yeah, he walks on water, so I'm pretty sure he'll play", he said.
This has pushed him out of practice on Wednesday that now has the potential to force him to miss Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. He went down with it during the second quarter of the win over the Chicago Bears, but returned in the second half.
There are two very obvious things to look for when trying to find signs as to whether an important National Football League player will take the field or not.
For the Vikings it's not a question of if they'll see Rodgers take the field, but how they'll prepare for him if he's hobbled at all. He completed 20 of 30 passes for 286 yards and three touchdowns against the Bears. "He'll be given the whole week to get ready".
"I think obviously we have the best player in the league in our locker room", said Kizer of Rodgers.
Just before the start of the season, Rodgers was given a new contract at Green Bay to make him the highest-paid player in history.
"We know he's playing", Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen said.
"We're taking things day by day".
