Cormier, the UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight champion, submitted Derrick Lewis in the main event of UFC 230 Saturday night, earning his first successful title defense.

Cormier will be stripped of his light heavyweight title and the 205-pound crown will go to the victor of the Jones-Alexander Gustafsson bout at UFC 232 on December 29 in Las Vegas.

There is one more to go for Daniel Cormier before the two-division champion hangs up the gloves and walks away from the sport that made him rich and famous.

It was arguably one of the most straightforward wins of the 39-year-old's recent UFC career, as he extended his undefeated record as a heavyweight. However, he hasn't forgotten about Brock Lesnar. Cormier was feeling great after he flattened Stipe Miocic and won the heavyweight crown.

Yet while striking when the iron is hot is a good strategy for the UFC to have implemented for this headliner in the Big Apple, it wouldn't mean much is Lewis didn't present a clear and present danger to the reign of Cormier. "If Daniel Cormier wants to come back down to light heavyweight, he'll challenge one of the contenders for my belt".

"Brock Lesnar, when you come, bring that brand new WWE title as I feel like being a WWE Champion too". Lewis mimicked Cormier's moves from the video at the news conference and both fighters erupted into laughter.

It wasn't enough though, as Cormier managed to get the fight to the ground again before sinking in the choke.

Last night, Lewis and his team took to social media to reveal that should "The Black Beast" win on Saturday, anyone in and around Cypress, Texas can head down to the local Popeyes to get some free chicken between 2-4 on Sunday.

You never know how one thing can change another in time and there's always the possibility that you might never expect how different things could have been if things would have been different. He's won eight of his last nine fights (three straight) on the strength of his significant knockout power that makes him a threat should he connected on that one devastating punch.

"I told him a long time ago, 'If you're my champion the rest of my career, I'm cool with that, '" White said.

Adesanya flipped off Brunson early in the first round and finished him not much later for the TKO win.
